AS 13031, Australia’s modified adoption of ISO 13031 – Earth-moving Machinery – Quick Couplers is now out for public comment until 20 July 2022.
The publication of this document is intended to result in the withdrawal of AS 4772 – Earth-moving machinery – Quickhitches for excavators and backhoe loaders.
The intent of this project is to harmonise Australia’s expectations for quick hitches with those of the rest of the World. The Australian adoption is mostly harmonised with ISO 13031 but includes:
- Australian terminology
- Alignment with the NSW Quickhitch Position Paper
- Lifting hooks fitted to quick couplers needing to be a closed eye, or spring loaded latches of a particular design
- Further clarifications on specific matters
