A message from the Chair

Welcome to the CMEIG Summer Newsletter.

In this newsletter we look at:

  • The importance of industry led training packages, including the need for a BEV Mobile Plant training stream, and highlight one apprentice excelling in this area.
  • An important update to CMEIG’s Advisory Note on Australian and International Standards for Earthmoving Machinery.
  • WorkSafe Victoria’s proposed guidance for using excavators to lift and suspend loads, and CMEIG’s response.
  • Workplace Health & Safety Queensland’s initiative on the safe storage of excavator buckets.
  • A feature on Salmon Buckets and Attachments, a three-generation family-owned business supporting many CMEIG OEMs and dealers throughout Australasia.

Importantly, I ask you to save the date for the CMEIG Annual General Meeting on Thursday March 20th in Sydney. We will be hosting an on-site full day of presentations, including an update from PowerStats. Further details will be provided in the new year – please mark the date in your diary.

I trust that you enjoy the CMEIG Newsletter and hope you have a restful break over the festive season.

Best wishes
