Welcome to our first Newsletter of the year.
In this edition we look at work undertaken with WorkSafe Queensland and the Queensland Electrical Safety Office on clarifying that electrical licensing requirements do not apply for work on the propulsion parts of electric vehicles. We appreciate the clarity provided by the Regulator.
Another article notes the acknowledgement of the Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology as a recognised pathway to additional skillsets in Battery Electric Vehicle inspection, diagnosis and repair.
This is important part of ensuring that, as the best qualified and experienced people, mobile plant technicians are able to further develop their skills on emerging technology, as well as developing future pathways for licensed work through a Restricted Electrical Licence.
Additionally, there are articles on work undertaken by CMEIG's Engineering Working Group with the Australian Communications & Media Authority to reduce red tape and avoid prospective barriers to trade, increased compliance costs and the time to market for earthmoving and agricultural machinery.
Importantly, I would like to advise of two events occurring on Thursday 14th March at the Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport Hotel.
The first is our Annual General Meeting at midday followed by a light lunch.
I encourage all financial members of CMEIG to attend.
The second is a meeting of the CMEIG Industry Statistics Subscribers at 1.30pm including a presentation by Dima Ivanov, the Managing Director of our industry statistics provider, PowerStats.
Again, I encourage all Subscribers to CMEIG's industry statistics to attend.
Enjoy the Newsletter.
Best Regards
