Chairman’s Address

There are many activities being undertaken by our Working Groups and of course, by David our CEO, with the focus to improve our industry for our members.

You may have noticed our LinkedIn page and the content that is highlighted and shared. There are many updates directly related to CMEIG, but also industry special interest posts that could be of benefit to yourselves, your businesses, and your colleagues. I ask that you take the time to “follow” our LinkedIn page, and “like”, “comment” and “share” the posts as well as invite colleagues to follow CMEIG.

Although we have been limited over the last couple of years to hold industry events, we plan to conduct more over the coming months. A great example was our recent QLD Business Luncheon which we have provided a summary of in this issue.

Our Skills & Training Working Group are focused on looking at what Skills of the Future are needed for mobile plant technology. A lot of our members are supplying and developing new technology and the current standard courses may not meet our members’ needs. It is appropriate that we conduct these reviews and make recommendations to the appropriate departments and agencies on what base level skills our people need.

This edition includes an update on the National Hydrogen Framework Review and the recent RSHQ Forum.

I hope you find this edition of our Newsletter beneficial. Please share it amongst your industry peers and invite them to subscribe by emailing birrell@cmeig.com.au. We welcome any feedback on how we can improve the CMEIG Newsletter.

All the very best to you and your families for the festive season. Stay safe, have fun, and enjoy valuable time with friends and families.

Best wishes,

Dean Gaedtke
Chair CMEIG
