The Mining and Automotive Skills Alliance (AUSMASA) is the Jobs and Skills Council responsible for developing training for the mobile plant industry.
AUSMASA are seeking feedback on proposed changes to these skillsets:
- AURSS00063 – Battery Electric Vehicle Diagnose and Repair Skill Set and
- AURSS00064 – Battery Electric Vehicle Inspection and Servicing Skill Set
Can you help?
Entry to the Battery Electric Vehicle skill sets is currently limited to graduates of automotive electrical, light vehicle mechanical and heavy commercial vehicle mechanical qualifications. In response to industry feedback, AUSMASA proposes adding the AUR31220 – Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology qualification to the pathway qualifications listed in the two skill sets.
Enabling this is a critical requirement to ensure Mobile Plant Technicians have the training required to service Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV).

Your feedback is invaluable and industry support is necessary to achieve this change.
