As we move towards a more sustainable future, the event highlighted the evolving opportunities available for those ready to embrace these changes.

The event provided a platform to discuss the critical skills needed for the future, from technical expertise to innovative problem-solving, all within the context of a rapidly changing industry landscape.
During the event, we were excited to learn more about the Global Dealer Technician Challenge, an initiative designed to recognise and celebrate the essential role that dealer technicians play in delivering exceptional customer service. These skilled professionals are the backbone of our industry and ensure that machinery operates at its best and that customer needs are met with precision and care.
As the demand for skilled technicians continues to grow, it’s estimated that by the end of 2026, CAT dealers will need to hire more than 44,000 technicians globally. This surge underscores the importance of attracting and nurturing new talent in the field. “There are thousands of opportunities available globally for those who are interested in a hands-on career,” says Caterpillar Global Service Vice President, Henry Venneman. “CAT dealers are often looking for individuals who are problem solvers, mechanically inclined, and tech-savvy.”
The Global Dealer Technician Challenge will unfold across a series of regional and semi-final competitions held around the world, offering a platform for technicians to showcase their skills and knowledge. The top 10 finalists from these rounds will earn the opportunity to compete in the grand finals, set to take place in March 2026 at the prestigious CONEXPO/CON-AGG in Las Vegas. This event will bring together the best of the best, highlighting the critical role of dealer technicians in our industry’s future.
